• Digital X-rays
  These are the latest in technology and reduce radiation exposure time to our patients by at least 70 percent. We are excited to offer this new technology to you.  The images are available immediately on the screen for patient and Dr. viewing to aid in treatment explanation and patient education. 
• Intra- Oral camera
  This technology gives Dr. Afkami many advantages. Our intra oral camera provides the kind of evidence you need to make an informed decision. Along with our written documentation and conversations, we can now add visual evidence to your resources for determining which dental care would be most beneficial to you.
• Computer software
  We use computerized imaging for charting patient information and for your personalized treatment plan. Dr. Afkami will discuss and go over detailed treatment planning with each patient using the computer to provide a visual image of the treatment that would benefit our patients.

The partial loss of just a few teeth may be treated by a removable partial denture rather than having a fixed bridge (non-removable). We also offer immediate placement of full dentures after extractions (called an immediate denture) for our patients in need of immediate esthetics.  Another type of denture we offer is called an ‘over denture.’ This type of prostheses locks in the denture into an implant placed in the gum line. The denture is removable, but is supported by the permanent implant.

The decision as to which type of partial or denture is preferred depends on several important factors, and we will help you decide which is better for you and your health. Such areas that help us determine which treatment is most beneficial to you are:

• Tooth colored fillings (composite resins)
  We use tooth colored fillings (composite resins). We can also remove the old amalgam fillings and replace them with the tooth colored fillings for a more esthetic look and a brighter smile.
• Porcelain crowns and bridges
  Crowns serve many functions, such as adding strength to fractured teeth and restoring and improving the appearance of natural teeth.  A bridge is an alternative replacement for a missing tooth and it is permanent.
• Endo therapy (root canal/molar therapy)
  Inside each tooth lays the nerve of the tooth, which contains the pulp. When the pulp becomes infected or irreversibly inflamed, endodontic treatment is urgently needed. Root canals are used to save teeth in such situations. Dr. Afkami use the latest techniques to ensure that root canal therapy is virtually painless. We provide root canal therapy for patients of all ages.

Implants remove the need for diet restrictions that can be caused by dentures. It is like having a natural smile. After the implant is placed, we’ll create an esthetic restoration on the implant.
